Chateau Yering

We stayed in the yarra suite at the Chateau Yering historic house hotel for a night :) It's a beautiful small hotel with amazing surroundings. Right next to it is the Yering Station, an old vineyard :) Wine's still produced there though, with modern facilities of course haha. Anw, the hotel was seriously awesome. The beds were comfy, the bathroom had a spa, and the room had a private balcony that overlooked the yarra valley! There were even rabbits hopping around right outside our room :D Different types of suites have different room facings, but I doubt there's one with a poor view considering how picturesque the entire yarra valley is! Instead of numbers, the rooms had interesting names which I kinda forgot oops! Haha oh there's a tiny swimming pool for hotel guests just a few metres from the main block too, in a garden-ish place that's really pretty, with a real lemon tree and stuff :) I loved the plants and flowers that grew in the area! Even though in winter most aren't in full bloom yet :(

Lovely lawn :)

The view from our window!

This is the 'do not disturb' cat which you leave outside your room if you don't want housekeeping

That's part of our balcony:)

There's this random pond hidden behind tall bushes at the lawn

Pretty rose, the last on a rose bush

A yellow one :)

The 1st time i've seen a cherry tree xD

Lemon tree! The staff at the hotel were so nice as to let us pluck some :)

Sweetwater Cafe :D where breakfast and lunch are served

There's a buffet spread along with ala carte breakfast items for our package :) The spread was simple but satisfying :)

With sauteed mushrooms

With bacon

They'll do your eggs however you like xD poached, scrambled, sunnyside up!

Yering Station! A lot of random stuff's sold, like marshmallows, tea, jam etc

and of course WINE

Complimentary wine tasting for hotel guests :) We tried like 20 types of wine?? Chardonnay, rose etc, including famous yarra valley wines. My dad was red by the time he finished the last glass. I tried two and stopped haha xP Mmm honesty we didn't really like the wine as they were mostly kinda dry and bitter. One was insanely sweet, like 80 percent sugar or something :X Hahaha too bad they didn't have ice wine!

Here's where the helicopter lands and takes off!

Breath-taking view from an open space beside the art gallery :)

Warm fireplace cheers!

Eleanor's Restaurant :) It's really cosy and romantic, lights dimmed and everything haha. There weren't many patrons on a cold winter's night though.

The special looking butter is truffle butter, it's really REALLY good xD

Complimentary appetiser mushroom chestnut something, super good too :) It's super creamy and mushroomy and the chestnut bits give it some crunch

My mum and I shared the vegetarian taste menu :) That's a beetroot thingy hahaha.

Potato soup! Really thick and creamy, sliiiightly on the salty side though. The truffle was exquisite and the leek was both decorative and tasty. The garlic crouton's really good too and the soup was made extra special with a confit duck's egg in the middle :) Double thumbs up!

Asian styled tofu hahaha. The tofu's really salty by itself honestly, but it tasted better together with the veg foam and sauce :)

Cheesestick thing which was quite tasty :) The veg tasted a little perculiar though...

Complimentary dessert! It's panna cotta xD

ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS xD It's called Chocolate Terrine. orange sorbet I think, together with creme brulee and chocolate stuff in a honeycomb!

Pan seared Hapuka main dish. Looks good, tastes great xD

My dad's yarra valley suckling pig hahaha. It's a small dish btw, so you'll have space for a main course and dessert xD

The great thing about this restaurant is that the prices are calculated by the number of dishes, regardless of what you choose (dessert, entree, main)! Plus, hotel guests get special discount teehee xD

Well, that's all for Chateau Yering!:)
